Laura E. Ruberto is a professor of Humanities at Berkeley City College. She is the author of Gramsci, Migration, and the Representation of Women’s Work in Italy and the U.S. (Lanham: Lexington Books, 2007), the co-editor of Italian Neorealism and Global Cinema (Detroit: Wayne State University Press, 2007), and the translator of Such Is Life, Ma la vita è fatta cosi: A Memoir by Leonilde Frieri Ruberto (New York: Bordighera Press, 2010). Her research has been supported by a Fulbright Faculty Research Grant and an NEH Summer Grant. She co-edits the book series Critical Studies in Italian America from Fordham University Press and is the Film and Digital Media Review Editor for the Italian American Review.
Irena Stanic Rasin is a freelance translator, writer and instructor of Italian and Croatian. She is a cofounder and director of the Croatian School of Boston. Her coauthored book for preadolescents A da se to dogodi tebi: Prirucnik za odrastanje (Zagreb: Udruga Liliput, 2014), which combines short stories with a psychologist’s commentary, has been recommended for use in schools in Croatia by the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. It was also included on the Croatian Library Association “Good Book List” for 2014.
