In 1993 Italica Press began publishing the five books of the Codex Calixtinus in English translation. The seminal book in this project,
William Melczer’s translation of Book 5, The
Pilgrim’s Guide, was the first translation of
this fundamental text and has become the
standard for scholars and others interested in
the route to Compostela.
In 2021, thanks to
the commitment and skill of five scholars,
editors and translators, the Compostela
Project will be completed with the publication
of all five books:
